Circumstances
Lisa Leckie lived in a third-floor apartment at 390 Southdale Road East with her baby son and common-law husband. That is where her partner found her body on March 24, 2009, when he returned from work shortly before 7 a.m.
Her eight-month-old son was unharmed and found in his crib.
Investigators believe she was killed on the evening of March 23, 2009, or in the early morning hours of March 24, 2009. The autopsy revealed that she died as a result of asphyxiation.
A note written on an impact-type typewriter with a ribbon was left behind by her killer. The note and other evidence strongly indicate this was not a random act and that Lisa was targeted by someone she knew.
