CIRCUMSTANCES

Margaret Sheeler (nee Butterman) was around 6 months pregnant when she went missing on Friday, December 27, 1963. Her nude body was found in a field west of the Bridle Path on Kipps Lane in London, Ontario, on Jan. 23, 1964. She had a fractured skill and her clothes were strewn arbout the field.

Margaret’s husband, Philip, had reported her missing on Saturday, Dec. 28, 1963. He said that he and Margaret had an argument at their home on the Bridle Path and she had left to go for a walk.

SUSPECTS

The Husband

Phillip reportedly had a drinking problem.

The night Margaret disappeared, the young couple were preparing for a party at their home. The guests arrived at 8 p.m. and later said that Phillip was drunk and talking to himself as he paced back and forth. He told them that Margaret had walked to her parent’s home after they argued, although Margaret’s parent’s home was more than an hour’s drive away

The Ex-Boyfriend

Margaret reportedly had a smitten ex-boyfriend who followed her to London after she got married.

Unknown Serial Killer

Margaret Sheeler’s murder is similar to the murder of Suzanne Miller.
